Lovejoy Farm Fresh: A Community Garden & Store Bringing Fresh Food and Hope to Residents

In the heart of Lovejoy, Georgia, there’s a hidden gem that’s more than just a store—it’s a movement of community, growth, and hope. The Lovejoy Farm Fresh Store and Garden is a vision that has blossomed into reality thanks to the passion of local leaders and the dedication of residents who believe in taking care of one another.

A Vision Rooted in Community

Former Mayor Bobby Cartwright, who is also a farmer, first had the vision for the store and garden. For a while, that vision slowed down as the city explored other directions. But thanks to the leadership of Mayor Marci Fluellyn, the garden has been brought back to life. With her commitment to community and food accessibility, the project is thriving again—stronger than ever.

The goal of the Lovejoy Farm Fresh initiative is simple but powerful:
👉 Make sure no resident in Lovejoy goes hungry, whether they have money or not.

A Store for the People

At Lovejoy Farm Fresh, it’s more than just about getting food—it’s about building community. The store provides fresh, locally sourced goods and also supports small businesses by showcasing local vendors. Anyone in the community who sells local products can reach out and request space in the store. This not only helps entrepreneurs gain exposure, but also strengthens the local economy.

The store truly belongs to the people.

Growing Together: The Community Garden

If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to garden—or if you already have experience—the Lovejoy City Garden welcomes you. For just $25, you can claim your space and start planting as much as you’d like. Even better, if you need help or guidance, there’s always someone at the garden ready to assist. It’s the perfect opportunity to learn, grow, and feed your family with healthy, homegrown food.

Built From the Ground Up

The success of the store and garden didn’t happen overnight. Manager Keith and two dedicated employees literally built the store from the ground up. Their hard work, along with the vision of Mayor Fluellyn, has created a thriving space where residents can shop, learn, and grow together.

A Special Thank You

I want to give a heartfelt thank you to Manager Keith for kindly allowing me to interview him and for giving me a wonderful tour of the garden. I also appreciate Jamiya and Shanti, the garden assistants, for taking the time to speak with me and share their experiences. During my visit, I was able to purchase some produce, and I can honestly say everything was fresh, delicious, and affordable. I used my Lovejoy Garden Card along with the $20 provided by the city, and I still had change left after shopping—what a blessing!
