The Giant Is Smaller Than You Think

Hello, wonderful, amazing, sweet, and lovely people 💛

It’s a brand-new year, and I am genuinely excited. It’s still January, and we’re still moving forward. What a blessing. How are you feeling today? How is life treating you? I truly hope you’re doing well and feeling encouraged.

I want to share something that’s been on my heart because I know I’m not the only one who experiences this.

Isn’t it interesting how our minds work when we have something to do? The moment we assign difficulty to a task—whether it’s following up with a client, cleaning the house, doing laundry, or even washing dishes—we suddenly feel heavy. Instead of feeling motivated or excited to get it done, we feel overwhelmed. Our minds start telling us stories: It’s going to take too long. I don’t have time. I’ll do it later.

And even when we technically do have the time, the heaviness still creeps in.

The truth is, the mind can play tricks on us.

Recently, I had to follow up with some clients who had returned from vacation. A few things happened during their trip that needed to be addressed. In my mind, I kept thinking about how long the conversation would take and how much energy it would require. I told myself, This is going to take a while. Let me do other things first.

But here’s what really happened:

I wasn’t actually using that time productively. The more I postponed it, the more uneasy and stressed I felt. The task wasn’t even being done, yet it was draining me emotionally.

That’s when I realized something powerful—my mind was creating resistance where there didn’t need to be any.

So I made a decision.

I decided to face it and handle it.

And guess what? The moment I took action, it felt easy. The conversation flowed. The situation was handled. And now, it’s resolved.

Here’s the lesson I want to leave you with today:

When you keep postponing the things you know you should be doing, the weight grows heavier. You feel disappointed, stressed, and overwhelmed. But the moment you take even a small step toward it, the fear begins to dissolve.

The giant you’re afraid of facing is often just a tiny ant—waiting to be crushed by simple action.

So today, I encourage you:

Face the thing you’ve been avoiding. Start small. Take one step. You’ll be amazed at how quickly the heaviness lifts.

Start With What I Had

Hello friends,

Thank you for being here again. It’s a beautiful day, and I truly hope you’re having a blast. And if today hasn’t felt so great yet, I hope by the end of this post you feel lighter, more hopeful, and encouraged.

Have you ever wanted to start something—anything—but felt stuck because you didn’t have all the tools, resources, or confidence you thought you needed? It can feel easier to wait. Easier to tell yourself, “I’ll start when I lose the weight,” or “I’ll begin when I have more money,” or “Once my life looks more put together, then I’ll go for it.” I’ve been there.

The mind can play tricks on us. Our emotions can lie. They can convince us that we’re inadequate or not enough simply because we’re not at our ideal weight, don’t have the money yet, or aren’t where we thought we’d be by now. But here’s what I’ve learned along the way: accept where you are, but refuse to stay there.

Start with what you have.

A couple of months ago, my sweet man suggested that I create samples of my red sauce recipe and turn it into my own marinara line. At the time, I didn’t have a lot of extra money to invest in the project. It would have been so easy to reject the idea, talk myself out of it, or list all the reasons it wouldn’t work.

Instead, I decided to take action.

I bought about two pounds of tomatoes, made a small batch of sauce, and gave samples away to get honest feedback. That simple decision—using what I had and doing what I could—led to something I never expected. People didn’t just like it. They placed orders. They bought Maryam’s Marinara.

I’m still in awe. I’m still grateful. And all of it happened because I moved instead of waiting.

What you have right now is enough to get you to your next level. It may not feel like much, but it’s the seed for your breakthrough. Action creates clarity. Movement creates momentum. Waiting only feeds doubt.

So take action right where you are. Use what’s already in your hands. Trust that God can multiply small beginnings when you show up with faith and courage.

And one more thing—don’t let anyone steal your joy. Your journey is yours. Your timing is divine. Your beginning doesn’t have to be perfect for it to be powerful.

Start with what you have. That’s all you need.

Decisions Create Momentum

Hello wonderful friends,

It’s a beautiful day today, and I felt led to share something simple yet powerful with you.

If you don’t decide and get moving in your life, time will pass anyway—and with it can come unnecessary regret. Decisions are not just about choosing a path; they are about choosing movement. When you don’t decide, you’re still making a decision—the decision to stay stuck, to drift backward, or to pause your own growth.

You may be in a difficult season right now. A season where it feels easier to quit than to keep going. A season where dreams feel distant or unclear. But moving backward is not where God intended for you to remain. Every single day presents an opportunity to decide differently, to shift direction, and to leave a positive mark on your own life and the lives of others.

What you’re going through is real. It may hurt deeply. But don’t let the weight of emotions or mental fatigue keep you frozen. Emotions can lie. Mental fatigue can be eased—through movement, fresh air, quiet moments by a lake, or a simple walk in nature. Peace often meets us after we move, not before.

When you make a simple decision to get up, everything begins to shift. I know that when you’re deep in the heaviness of an issue, taking action can feel pointless or even foolish. You may feel powerless—but you are not. You are powerful. One small step in a new direction can immediately boost your confidence.

Start small.

Take a short walk around your neighborhood.

Sit outside and breathe deeply.

Write down one thing you will do today—and do it.

Make the decision to get back up and allow yourself to feel excited again. Follow through on that decision. That one step can change everything.

Here’s the beautiful thing about decisions: when you make one small decision and follow through, it creates momentum. That momentum builds confidence. Confidence leads to another decision, then another—and before you realize it, big changes are taking place. You feel stronger. Clearer. More hopeful. More aligned with who you truly are.

Momentum doesn’t come from waiting.

It comes from deciding.

Get up and make a decision today. Your future self will thank you.

Shake It Off: Breaking Free from Emotional and Spiritual Heaviness

December 12

What’s up wonderful, amazing, sweet, and lovely people? How are you doing today? I pray your day is already filled with light—and if it’s not, it’s about to be. Welcome to Maryam’s Joyful Life. It truly is a beautiful day, and today’s post is coming straight from a place of inspiration and faith.

We all go through moments where something feels heavy—so heavy that it affects everything we do. Maybe it’s emotional. Maybe it’s spiritual. Maybe it’s something you can’t even put into words, but you can feel it in every step you take. That heaviness tries to steal your joy, drain your energy, and dim your light.

But here’s the truth: you have the power to shake it off.

What’s Weighing You Down?

Ask yourself honestly—what is it that’s sitting on your heart right now?

What has you so weighed down that enjoying your life feels hard?

The longer you sit in it…

The longer you marinate in it…

The longer you roll in it, sleep with it, and accept it…

…the stronger it appears to become.

But heaviness loses its grip the moment you rise up and speak against it.

You Have Authority Over That Heaviness

When you begin to speak life over yourself—when you command that heaviness to leave—you shift the atmosphere around you.

Say it with boldness:

“I don’t want you. Lose your hold over me in the name of Jesus. I break your power off of me.”

This isn’t just positive thinking. This is spiritual authority. This is faith in action.

As someone who has faced that same heaviness before, I want to stand in agreement with you today. In the mighty name of Jesus, anything trying to keep you bound—emotionally, mentally, spiritually—is broken now.

Rise Up & Do What Needs To Be Done

Sometimes the first step to shaking things off is simply getting up.

Get up.

Move your body.

Change your environment.

Stir yourself back into life.

Clean your house.

Wash your clothes.

Take a shower.

Step outside and breathe in fresh air.

Walk in nature.

Do something that signals to your spirit, “I’m alive and I’m in charge.”

Every small action is a declaration of freedom.

You Are Not The Tail—You Are The Head

The power of God in you is stronger than anything trying to weigh you down.

You are chosen.

You are equipped.

You are powerful.

And this—right now—is your moment.

No darkness has the right to rule your life.

No stronghold has the authority to keep you stuck.

No attack has the ability to define you.

In Jesus’ name, you rise.

In Jesus’ name, you reclaim your life.

In Jesus’ name, you walk in victory.

This is your day.

This is your time.

Get up and take back your life.

Amen and Amen. Go and Be Blessed.
