Receiving Help: The Strength in Saying Yes

Hello wonderful, amazing, sweet, and lovely people! 😊

How are you all doing today? I hope you are having an amazing day and allowing life to refill your joy. Welcome to MaryamsjoyfulLife. Today is a beautiful day, and I’m so excited that you stopped by to spend a few moments here on the blog.

Today I want to talk about something many of us struggle with: receiving help.

What Does It Mean to Receive Help?

When someone offers to help you, what is your response?

Do you hesitate and say, “No, I’ve got it” even when you know you could use the support? Or do you gladly accept the help because you understand that you don’t have to carry everything alone?

Sometimes pride gets in the way. Sometimes we feel like accepting help means we’re not strong enough, capable enough, or deserving enough. But let’s pause and really think about that.

We were never created to live life completely on our own.

Life Is Built on Cooperation

Take a moment and look at the everyday things around you.

The home you live in depends on people who maintain electricity and power. The water you use flows because people work daily to ensure the systems operate properly. The groceries you buy are produced, transported, stocked, and sold by many individuals working together.

Even if someone grows their own food on a farm, they still depend on others in some way—whether it’s the place they buy seeds, the tools they use, or the systems that provide water.

Every part of our lives includes the involvement of others helping things move smoothly.

So why is it surprising when we need help too?

Let the Right People Help You

Being open to help does not make you weak. It does not mean you are less than anyone else. In fact, when we allow the right people in our lives to support us, something powerful happens.

We grow.

Things begin to move more smoothly. We receive better opportunities. We perform better. Life flows more naturally.

When we try to do everything ourselves, we slowly drain our energy. That pressure eventually turns into exhaustion, resentment, heaviness, and discouragement.

And none of us want to live in that space.

Even Superwomen Need Support

Many people feel like they have to be the strong one all the time. They carry responsibilities, take care of others, and keep pushing forward without asking for help.

But here’s the truth: even superwomen need help.

If you’ve spent years rejecting help because you felt you had to do everything yourself, give yourself permission to change that starting today.

Be open. Be willing. Say yes.

Giving and Receiving Are Both Necessary

Interestingly, the people who struggle most with receiving help are often the ones who give the most.

They give their time. They give their energy. They give their resources. They show up for everyone.

But when someone offers something in return, they resist it.

If that sounds familiar, it’s time to shift that mindset.

Life is a two-way street.

You give, and you receive.

You receive, and you give.

Accepting help doesn’t make you small. It doesn’t make you greedy. It simply means you’re living in balance.

And that balance is where joy and happiness thrive.

Trust the Help Sent Your Way

Sometimes the support that comes into our lives is exactly what we’ve been praying for. When we trust God and remain open, the right people appear at the right time.

So when help shows up, don’t push it away.

Receive it with gratitude.

Allow it to lighten your load and move you forward.

Change Is Linguistic: Speak the Language of Where You’re Going

What’s up, wonderful, amazing, sweet, and lovely people?

How are you all doing today? I truly hope you’re having an amazing day and not allowing anyone—or anything—to steal your joy. Welcome to I’m Joy for Life. It’s a beautiful day, and I’m so grateful to share this moment with you.

Today, I want to talk about something that has been deeply resonating with me lately: what’s in your language.

One of my coaches often reminds me that change is linguistic. In other words, the words we speak matter more than we realize. When we change how we speak, we change what we attract into our lives—and I believe that with my whole heart.

Recently, I took time to honestly evaluate the words I’ve been using to talk about my goals, my life, and myself. What I discovered surprised me. I realized I hadn’t been as positive as I thought I was. Instead of speaking from vision, I had been speaking from circumstance. I was allowing current results—and sometimes past disappointments—to determine my language.

But here’s the truth: if we want to change our lives, we have to use our higher faculties. We must use our perception, our reason, and our intuition. We must begin to think, see, and speak as the person we desire to become—not as the person defined by present conditions.

When we constantly evaluate ourselves based on our current situation, we recreate the same results over and over again. But when we shift our language, we shift our reality.

I realized that no matter what is happening on the outside, I have the power to change the inside. And the inside always comes first. I can refuse to let external circumstances control my attitude, my expectations, or my words. Instead, I can choose to speak the language of where I’m going—as if I’m already there.

Every word we speak carries a vibration. Every sentence we form is creating something. If we’re always talking about what’s not working, thinking about what’s missing, and repeating old stories, that’s exactly what we continue to experience. Not because we’re bad or broken—but because language is creative.

So I’m choosing differently.

I’m choosing to speak from the goal, not the gap.

I’m choosing to see myself where I’m going, not where I’ve been.

I’m choosing to speak as the version of me who has already achieved what she desires.

And I want to encourage you to do the same.

Stop allowing past results and current circumstances to dictate what you speak and what you expect. If you’ve been in the habit of saying, “I can’t,” I want you to know this: you can. You can, you can, you can.

Your spirit is beautiful.

Your spiritual DNA is powerful and perfect.

There is no limit to where you can take yourself.

My coach often says, “There is no end to where you can take yourself,” and today, I choose to accept that idea fully. I choose to believe that I can create what I want. I refuse to allow past or present results to control my attitude, my language, or my future.

From this moment forward, I choose to speak positivity.

I choose to believe.

I choose to think and speak like I’ve already achieved my goals.

I am going higher.

Better things than I’ve ever imagined are coming my way.

I am successful.

I am abundant.

I am worthy.

Success is my birthright.

I refuse to allow the past to control my future.

From this present moment, I choose to create a future I’m proud of—a future filled with joy, excitement, fulfillment, and freedom. A future created on my terms, not dictated by past failures, other people’s expectations, or old limitations.

So today, I invite you to stand strong with me. Decide what you want. Speak the language of where you’re going. Act as though it’s already done—because you are capable.

Remember this: you are the prize.

The goal isn’t more important than you.

You are powerful because you have the ability to create what you desire.

And it all starts with how you think, how you feel, and—most importantly—how you speak.

Let’s get excited. Let’s be grateful that we have the power to change our lives starting today. And let’s refuse to allow situations, people, or the past to steal our joy.

Thank you so much for being here and reading this today. I appreciate you more than you know.

And if you’re looking for a coach who will walk with you as you create the life you truly want, I’m here for you.
