🌿 A Call to Peace: Let Go, Trust, and Surrender

What’s up, wonderful, amazing, sweet, and lovely people?

How are you all doing today? I truly hope your day is filled with joy, light, and beautiful moments. Welcome to Amster Life—I’m so happy you’re here. It’s a beautiful day, and I’m grateful we get to share this moment together.

Today, I want to gently call our hearts toward one powerful thing… peace.

✨ What Is Peace, Really?

Peace isn’t something far away or impossible to reach.

Peace is the absence of chaos and confusion in our minds. It’s the release of fear, anxiety, and worry.

Peace is deeper than circumstances.

It’s the connection to the very essence of who we are—the spirit within us that remains steady, no matter what is happening around us. Even in the middle of chaos, the peace of God is already within your heart right now.

So the question becomes…

💭 Why Do We Block Our Own Peace?

Sometimes, we feel like we should suffer when things don’t go our way.

We think:

“I should worry.”

“I should be upset.”

“I should feel stressed.”

And yes, worry can be part of the human experience—but it becomes a problem when we allow it to take control.

When fear, anxiety, and stress begin to lead our lives, they pull us away from the peace that already belongs to us.

🌱 The Shift: Let Go and Trust

So how do we shift out of that cycle?

One truth stands out:

Learn to let go… and trust.

This is where faith comes in.

When we trust God, we trust Him with everything:

our setbacks

our failures

our pain

our mistakes

the unknown

We come as we are and say:

“God, I couldn’t do it on my own. If I knew better, I would’ve done better. I need your help.”

There is something powerful about being honest, about surrendering fully and saying:

“I’m stressed. I’m overwhelmed. I’m tired. But I need you.”

💫 What Happens When You Surrender?

When you truly open up and release it all to God, something begins to shift.

It may not happen instantly, but gradually:

your heart feels lighter

your thoughts become calmer

your spirit feels more grounded

And before you even realize it, you’re no longer overwhelmed the way you were before.

That’s the peace of God taking over.

You’ll find yourself calm in situations that once stressed you. And in time, you’ll begin to see things turn around—sometimes even better than you imagined.

🙏 Your Invitation Today

So today, I invite you to ask yourself:

What am I holding onto that I need to surrender?

What would it look like to release the chaos and trust the One who can carry you through it?

Let today be the day you choose peace.

Let today be the day you let go.

You Are Valuable — Don’t Stay Down, Get Up and Shine

What’s up, wonderful, amazing, sweet, and lovely people?

I just wanted to remind you today that you are valuable. Thank you so much for stopping by my I’m Joyful Life blog. Today is a beautiful day—a day of love, joy, recognition, and accepting just how valuable you truly are.

It doesn’t matter where you failed or where you fell short. We all fall short. Nobody is perfect, and you are allowed to fall. Yes, you have permission to fail.

But hear me clearly:

You are not permitted to stay where you failed.

You are not allowed to break down, give up, and stay stuck.

It’s okay that you messed up. It’s okay that things didn’t go as planned. But don’t let a moment define your entire life. Get up and keep going. This life needs you. We need you. The world needs you.

There is something unique, powerful, and beautiful about you that the world has never seen before—and we’re waiting on it.

Don’t allow rejection, lies, disappointment, heartbreak, or breakups to keep you from rising. You are allowed to be a work in progress. Nobody expects perfection from you. The journey of life includes falling down and learning how to rise again.

Life is messy—but don’t let the mess keep you stuck.

Get up.

You can do better.

You can be better.

What people have concluded about you does not get the final say. You have the power to change the trajectory of your life—and even your generation.

We’re waiting on your light.

Don’t dim it because of naysayers.

Don’t dim it because you got tired.

Don’t dim it because you momentarily gave up on yourself.

Get up. Let your light shine.

Your light will inspire us.

Your light will restore faith.

Your light will remind people that life is still beautiful.

There are people waiting on you to rise.

So don’t let depression steal your joy. Don’t let lies or labels keep you bound. Get up. Smile. Dance. Take a shower. Fix your hair. Do whatever you need to do—but get up.

Your light is worth it.

Your light must shine.

Today is your day.

We’re cheering you on.

Stay the Course — Don’t Give Up

What’s up, wonderful, amazing, sweet, and lovely people?

How are you all doing today?

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I truly hope you’re having an amazing day. Today is a beautiful day, and I felt led to come on here to encourage you — to stay the course and not give up.

I want to remind you today to believe and to hope. No matter what it looks like, nobody has the final say but God. Nobody. You may have been rejected. You may have been told it’s impossible. But let me ask you this — who is the One that does impossible things? Who is the One that truly determines what is possible or not? It’s God.

I’ve lived long enough to see things that looked impossible become possible. Just because people judge what you’re going after based on their experiences, their failures, or their rejections does not mean their story has to become yours. Just because they couldn’t make it doesn’t mean you can’t.

Don’t give up on something simply because everyone around you failed at it. They are not you.

The Word tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and all our strength, and lean not unto our own understanding. In all our ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct our paths.

Today is your day of breakthrough.

Today is your day of miracles.

God has you, and amazing things are coming your way — even right now.

So don’t give up. Just because other people quit doesn’t mean you should. You can make it, and you will make it. It is possible for wonderful things to happen to you. It is possible for you to be the one who breaks that generational curse.

I want to remind you today that the power to break that curse is already in you and for you. You are capable. You are chosen. You are equipped.

Don’t allow other people’s stories to become your story.

Don’t allow their defeat to become your defeat.

Don’t allow their lack of bravery to become your lack of bravery.

Have faith. Be encouraged. Know that all things are working together in your favor. And it’s okay for you to want something different. It’s okay to want bigger, better, and more than what others in your family have settled for.

Don’t settle just because the people around you are settling.

Great things are coming. Get excited. Be happy. Stay hopeful.

All things are working together for your good.

I believe in you.

I see you.

I love you with the love of God.

And I’ll see you at the top.

Yes, You Can 🌱

What’s up, wonderful, amazing, sweet, and lovely people?

It’s a beautiful day today, and I’m truly excited to be back with another blog post. I don’t believe this is random—I believe this message is right on time for someone who needs it.

Today, I want you to know this simple but powerful truth: you can.

Whatever people may have concluded about you, whatever you may have concluded about yourself—that is not the truth. The truth of the matter is this: God is for you. And because God is for you, things can change, and things do change.

You might be in a place right now where you feel stuck. You may feel like it’s too far gone, like nothing good can come out of your situation, or that life has become too heavy and too difficult. I’m here to tell you lovingly and boldly—that is a lie.

No matter how far gone it may seem.

No matter how difficult it may look.

God still changes things.

And not only that—you have power within you to make a difference.

Sometimes all it takes is one decision. One simple step. One small action that begins with a choice. That decision can change your life—and it will change your life.

You may be feeling heavy right now. Heavy from the conclusions people have made about you. Heavy from lies that were spoken over you. Or maybe even heavier from the lies you told yourself and began to believe because you were in a vulnerable mental space.

But hear me clearly: those lies have no power over you anymore.

You’re getting up.

Do you want to be successful as a parent? God has already given you the power to be successful. Get up and start being there for your kids. Engage them. Love on them. Cook something special. Take them for a walk. Be present. See them.

Do you want to be more successful in your business? Get up and start practicing the skills of being successful. Learn your craft. Grow in it. Do it with joy. Get excited again.

Do you want to be more successful at your job? Get excited about it. Refuse to allow heaviness to take over your heart and mind.

Because you are worthy.

And you are deserving of abundance.

Yes—you are worthy and deserving of abundance.

Do not allow circumstances to determine the value or direction of your life. Your life is wonderful. God gave you this life. You are here for a reason. You have a contribution to make. You are important. Your presence matters.

And listen—I need you to give yourself a break from trying to be perfect.

You can’t be perfect. You will fall. We all fall. Mistakes happen. But don’t stay where you made the mistake. Don’t become paralyzed by it.

Get up.

Pick up your mat.

And walk.

You are deserving of wonderful, beautiful things. Do you hear me?

So today, I just want to remind you of how amazing you truly are. Don’t let emotional garbage or negative mental patterns keep you stuck. Get up. Shake it off. Shake your body. Move. Get excited again.

Turn on some music.

Dance.

Open the curtains.

Let the light in.

Today, you can.

Yes—you can.

Thank you for being here, and have an amazing day. 💛

Start With What I Had

Hello friends,

Thank you for being here again. It’s a beautiful day, and I truly hope you’re having a blast. And if today hasn’t felt so great yet, I hope by the end of this post you feel lighter, more hopeful, and encouraged.

Have you ever wanted to start something—anything—but felt stuck because you didn’t have all the tools, resources, or confidence you thought you needed? It can feel easier to wait. Easier to tell yourself, “I’ll start when I lose the weight,” or “I’ll begin when I have more money,” or “Once my life looks more put together, then I’ll go for it.” I’ve been there.

The mind can play tricks on us. Our emotions can lie. They can convince us that we’re inadequate or not enough simply because we’re not at our ideal weight, don’t have the money yet, or aren’t where we thought we’d be by now. But here’s what I’ve learned along the way: accept where you are, but refuse to stay there.

Start with what you have.

A couple of months ago, my sweet man suggested that I create samples of my red sauce recipe and turn it into my own marinara line. At the time, I didn’t have a lot of extra money to invest in the project. It would have been so easy to reject the idea, talk myself out of it, or list all the reasons it wouldn’t work.

Instead, I decided to take action.

I bought about two pounds of tomatoes, made a small batch of sauce, and gave samples away to get honest feedback. That simple decision—using what I had and doing what I could—led to something I never expected. People didn’t just like it. They placed orders. They bought Maryam’s Marinara.

I’m still in awe. I’m still grateful. And all of it happened because I moved instead of waiting.

What you have right now is enough to get you to your next level. It may not feel like much, but it’s the seed for your breakthrough. Action creates clarity. Movement creates momentum. Waiting only feeds doubt.

So take action right where you are. Use what’s already in your hands. Trust that God can multiply small beginnings when you show up with faith and courage.

And one more thing—don’t let anyone steal your joy. Your journey is yours. Your timing is divine. Your beginning doesn’t have to be perfect for it to be powerful.

Start with what you have. That’s all you need.

Small Wins That Build Self-Trust

There are moments in life when things don’t work the way we planned. Plans fall apart. Progress feels slow. Results don’t show up when we expect them to. In those moments, it’s easy to feel discouraged, overwhelmed, and tempted to shut down. It can feel like stopping altogether would hurt less than continuing to try.

But that is the worst thing we can do.

When things aren’t working, that is not the time to quit on yourself. That is not the moment to stop believing, hoping, praying, or moving forward. That moment is an invitation to respond differently.

Giving up feels like relief in the short term, but it slowly erodes self-trust. Every time we quit on ourselves, we teach our nervous system that we cannot be relied on when things get hard. Over time, that creates fear, hesitation, and self-doubt.

Small wins do the opposite.

Small wins rebuild trust with yourself.

A small win doesn’t have to be dramatic. It can be as simple as choosing to get up when you want to stay down. It can be adjusting your approach instead of abandoning the goal. It can be going for a walk, praying through the frustration, affirming what you desire even when the evidence hasn’t caught up yet.

A few months ago, I experienced setbacks that were hard, discouraging, and deeply disappointing. There were days it felt heavy. There were moments when stopping would have been easier. But I didn’t quit.

I chose to keep going.

I changed my approach instead of giving up. I prayed even when I felt tired. I exercised when my emotions felt low. I went on long walks and affirmed my desires in the present tense, even when my circumstances hadn’t shifted yet. I kept believing while moving.

And because I didn’t quit, I came out of it.

That’s the power of small wins. Every time you choose to keep going—even imperfectly—you send yourself a message: I can trust myself. That trust compounds. It builds resilience. It builds emotional strength. It builds faith in your own ability to navigate life.

Acceptance does not mean surrendering your vision. You can accept where you are without giving up on where you’re going. Accept the situation, but don’t stop praying. Don’t stop planning. Don’t stop believing. Don’t stop moving.

You always have a choice.

You may not control every circumstance, but you do control how you respond. And how you respond shapes your future far more than the setback itself.

My advice is simple and honest:

Don’t let things not going as you desire cause you to quit trying.

Don’t let disappointment steal your hope.

Don’t let delays convince you that it’s over.

Keep choosing small actions that align with the life you want. Those actions build momentum. Momentum builds confidence. Confidence restores joy.

And most of all—don’t let anyone steal your joy. Protect it. Your joy is fuel. It is strength. It is evidence that you are still choosing yourself.

Keep going. Even slowly. Even imperfectly.

That choice alone is a powerful win.

THE CHARGER WAS NOT EVEN CONNECTED

The charger was not connected

What'sup wonderful, amazing, sweet and lovely people? How are y'all doing today? Hope you're having an amazing day today and not letting anyone steal your joy! Welcome to Maryam's Joyful Life Blog!

I just had a HolyGhost lightbulb moment and wanted to share it with you all.

A couple of hours ago, I wanted to connect one of my phones to charge but was struggling to get it to charge. It seemed like the charger head I had was not working correctly, so I switched the head for one I knew was good. After switching them out, it still wouldn't work. I didn't even see a sign that the phone was charging, even after playing around with it to get it to work, I still wasn't making a head way. Then I decided to take a second  look at the connection to the extension.

That was when I noticed that while I had the right head connected, the charger wasn't connected to the power source. Then it hit me! WOW! How often do we prepare ourselves for what we want to achieve and have all the right tools but forget to connect our charger heads to the extension for power to come through?

I think that there are times when we spend a lot of time doing "the right things," and still end up falling short because we forget to plug into the power source.

Today, I'd like to remind us (myself included), to pay attention to the little things! The smallest detail if missed, could be the cause of BIG setbacks!

Remember to plug into the power source. In life, the first power source we need is a prayerful life.

In ALL THINGS, PRAY!

Remember to pray for guidance, protection and Divine provision and trust that God will come through!

Don't let anyone steal your joy!

Be Strong and Courageous: God Is With You Wherever You Go

What’s up, wonderful, amazing, sweet, and lovely people? 🌸 It’s a beautiful day today, and I’m so glad you stopped by Maryam’s Joyful Life. Thank you for checking out today’s post—it’s going to bless you!

Recently, something unusual happened to me, and I just knew I had to share it here. I was reading my Bible app, and I came across a scripture that I had highlighted a long time ago. It felt like God was speaking directly to me, reminding me of something I had forgotten. The verse was from the book of Joshua 1:9 (though at first, I thought it was in Deuteronomy):

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

When I read this verse, it was like a wake-up call. Lately, I had been focusing on the wrong things—feeling discouraged, feeling like God wasn’t moving fast enough, and honestly, like I was standing in the way of my own blessing. But this scripture reminded me that God already commanded me to be strong and courageous. It wasn’t just advice—it was a command filled with love and power.

Why This Scripture Spoke to Me

I realized in that moment that I wasn’t letting God fully step in. I was holding on to discouragement instead of faith. And maybe you’ve been there too. Maybe right now, you’re in a season where things feel slow, heavy, or frustrating. Maybe you’re tempted to give up because it feels like nothing is changing.

But friend, let me remind you of this truth: God is with you wherever you go. Whatever your situation looks like right now, it’s about to turn around. This verse isn’t just for me—it’s for you too.

How to Apply This Word Today

Here’s what I want you to do:

  • Speak this scripture over yourself by name. For example, say: “Maryam, do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
  • Shift your focus from what is going wrong to what God has already promised.
  • Begin to thank Him right now for the breakthrough that’s on the way.

God gave us this word because He’s about to do something extraordinary in our lives—but He also requires our agreement. We give that agreement by trusting Him, holding on to His promises, and being courageous even when it’s hard.

Final Encouragement

As you go through your day, carry this word in your heart: Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged. The Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Thank you so much for stopping by today—I appreciate you more than you know. 💕

CELEBRATING AFRICAN QUEENS ON THE BLOG TODAY!

Hello wonderful, amazing, sweet and lovely people. how are y'all doing today? I hope you are having an amazing day today and are not letting anyone steal your joy. Welcome to Maryam's Joyful Life! Today is a beautiful day!

So, I love being around confident women. It is an empowering atmosphere to be in. I have always been a pusher of self-confidence and accepting of whom you are regardless of what anyone thinks about you.

I have grown to believe that the best way to live your life is to live it the way you want to, not paying attention to what others think about you whether good or bad. Here's a clarification. If you base your actions off of what people think, there will always be this subliminal desire to always please people and they will expect you to please them ALL THE TIME! That's a messed up way to live because you can NEVER satisfy another but yourself! However, when you live your life doing what you think is right before God and on your own terms, your actions are not dependent on what people think, say or do!

Queen Hamamat is a Ghanian international business woman bringing jobs to the population of her village in Ghana. She's just assisted in creating a Shea Butter Museum in Ghana.

I grew up in a community where bleaching your skin is normal because the dominant belief is that light skin is beautiful. That's a belief that works for those who believe it. I have since learned that dark skin, chocolate skin, brown skin, caramel skin, any type of skin is as beautiful as the one who beholds it or accepts it. Every skin type is beautiful. I can not ignore the fact that there's always been this stereotype around women like me who have rich, dark brown skin.
Before I became more enlightened, I refused to think that I was less beautiful because of my skin tone. It broke my heart to see women hurt themselves by bleaching their skin so they could feel beautiful.

Beauty is everyone's natural state of being as long as they allow it. I have sisters who bleach but I have never had the desire to bleach my skin. I love my skin and want every dark skin Queen to love their skin also. Your success and happiness are not dependent on your skin tone. God, the Creator didn't make a mistake when He made you. You are truly masterpiece. I say this because I have seen your essence. Quit letting people define you. Society doesn't have the right to put a label on you!
Start right now,  decide right now that you will embrace and see the beautiful masterpiece that you are!

Here are some Queens who are breaking boundaries and giving beautiful dark skin girls and women an example of success to look at. They let you know that you can be dark skin and happily successful!

Bettinah Tianna is a Ugandan TV host; she's pictured on the right. Nandy is a beautiful model; pictured on the left.

Lupita Nyong'o a Hollywood decorated Kenyan actress.

Nikki Thot is also an example of a beautiful Queen.

Finally, Queen Maryam is also an example 😍

You don't have to damage your god-given beauty in other to feel accepted or loved. Anyone who does not accept your skin is the type you don't want in your life. You don't owe ANYONE an apology for how you were created. Right now, walk in fullness of your QUEENDOM, sweet lady, sweet girl. You deserve all the success and happiness in the world!

I hope this post inspires you!

Until next time.
Maryam💕
