Patience, Prayer, and God’s Perfect Timing: A Lesson from My Baby’s First Tooth

Hello wonderful, amazing, sweet, and lovely people! 💕

I hope you’re having an amazing day today and that you’re not letting anybody steal your joy. Welcome back to Maryam’s Joyful Life Blog. It’s a beautiful day, and I’m super excited to share this post with you all. God has been giving me little insights through everyday experiences, and today’s story is one of those sweet reminders of His faithfulness.

So, my baby girl is now seven months old—and guess what? Her first tooth finally popped through! 🦷✨

Now let me back up a bit. With my other babies, their teeth came in much earlier. Levion’s teeth came out when he was about three months old. Zoe’s teeth started around four or five months. Naturally, I expected the same with my sweet Layla. In fact, she began showing teething signs as early as one and a half months. I thought, Okay, here we go—it’s about to happen any day now.

But three months passed—no teeth.

Four months passed—still nothing.

Five months—nothing again.

I won’t lie, I started to feel a little worried. But instead of giving in to anxiety, I turned to prayer. I prayed over her every day. I pleaded the blood of Jesus over her and even spoke directly to her little gums: Teeth, you better come out in the name of Jesus!

The Bible tells us to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). So that’s what I did. Whenever worry crept in, I replaced it with thanksgiving. I reminded myself that God is faithful, and His timing is perfect.

And then, lo and behold—on the very day Layla turned seven months old—I looked inside her mouth and saw it. A tiny tooth finally breaking through! My heart leaped with gratitude and joy. It may have taken longer than her siblings, but it came right on time.

The Lesson God Taught Me Through This

As I reflected on this moment, God placed something powerful on my heart:

  • Every situation is different. Just because something happened quickly for someone else doesn’t mean your blessing is late.
  • Patience is key. Worrying doesn’t speed things up; it only robs us of joy.
  • Pray about everything. Big or small, God cares. Lay it all before Him.
  • God’s timing is perfect. When it happens, it will be beautiful, and it will be worth the wait.

This experience reminded me that many of us give up too quickly when things don’t happen on our timetable. We compare ourselves to others, thinking, If it didn’t happen for me when it happened for them, maybe it’s never going to happen. But that’s not true.

Just like my baby’s tooth, your miracle might take longer—but it will come right when God says it’s time.

A Word of Encouragement for You

I believe I’m speaking to someone today. Maybe you’ve been waiting, praying, and wondering why your breakthrough hasn’t shown up yet. Let me encourage you: this is your “seventh month” season. That miracle you’ve been waiting for is about to show up. 🙌

The Bible says in Matthew 7:7—“Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.”

So don’t stop asking. Don’t stop seeking. Don’t stop knocking. Your answer is on the way. Get your heart ready. Get your home ready. Get your mind ready. Because your life is about to change for good.

Final Thoughts

That’s all I have for you today, friends. My encouragement is simple: keep praying, keep trusting, and don’t let anybody steal your joy. God is faithful, and your miracle is closer than you think.

Sometimes You Have to Let the Baby Cry to Keep Her Safe

What’s up, wonderful, amazing, sweet, and lovely people? 💖

How are you all doing today? I hope you’re having an amazing day and living in the fullness of your joy. Welcome back to Maryam’s Joyful Life!

It’s a beautiful day today, and I just had to write and post this blog—even though I’m multitasking, breastfeeding the baby and eating at the same time. It has been a busy morning (a wonderful one, actually), but something came to my heart that I know I need to share.

My Morning Lesson: Letting the Baby Cry

This morning, I was preparing breakfast for the baby—making cereal with fresh bananas and hot water. I had her in one hand while trying to stir things together, but she kept reaching for the hot water.

Now, as a mom, you know the struggle. If I put her down, she would cry. But if I kept holding her, she could hurt herself badly. At that moment, I had to make a choice: let her cry in her safe space or risk her burning her little hand.

So I gently put her down, and yes, she cried. She cried hard. But the truth is, she wasn’t being neglected. I was actually preparing something good for her—her food. Her tears in that moment were part of my protection over her.

And right there, in the middle of my busy kitchen, I had a light-bulb moment. The Holy Spirit whispered to my heart:

“Sometimes you’ve got to let the baby cry to keep her safe.”

Could God Be Doing the Same for Us?

That thought hit me deeply. Could it be that God does the same thing for us?

  • Could it be that the thing we desire so strongly, the thing we’re praying for nonstop, isn’t happening because God is protecting us?
  • Could it be that our tears are not signs of neglect, but of God’s love—shielding us from something far worse?
  • Could it be that while we feel pain in the moment, God is actually preparing something better for us, just like I was preparing food for my baby?

Wow. Let that sink in.

A Heart of Gratitude

This reminded me of the importance of being thankful in all things. Even in the moments that make us cry, perhaps God is guarding our hearts from a deeper pain. Maybe, just maybe, our tears are evidence of His love and protection.

So today, I want to encourage you: thank God even in the “no’s” and the delays. What feels like a setback could actually be His way of keeping you safe and positioning you for something greater.

Final Encouragement

My sweet friends, I’m sending you love, joy, and a whole lot of sweetness from my heart to yours. 💕 Remember this truth today: don’t let anybody steal your joy.

Mom & Daughter Wash Day Routine | Natural Hair Care for Kids

What’s up wonderful, amazing, sweet, and lovely people? 💕

Thank you for checking us out today. We are so glad you’re here at Maryam’s Joyful Life!

Today, I just wanted to share a beautiful little moment I had with my daughter Zoe (we call her Zozo 💖). A few days ago, instead of our usual wash day routine in the shower, we decided to try something different and wash her hair in the kitchen sink.

Now, let me tell you—Zozo’s natural hair is absolutely gorgeous: thick, curly, and full of life. But if you’re a natural hair mama (or a curly-haired queen yourself), you already know… wash day can be a battle zone. Detangling those curls often comes with lots of resistance, sighs, and sometimes tears.

But this time? Things were different.

Our Kitchen Sink Wash Day Experience

I pulled out a product I’ve been loving for a while now: Aussie Miracle Curls Shampoo and Conditioner. Y’all, when I say this product worked magic on Zozo’s hair, I mean it! Her curls came out soft, easy to comb through, and full of bounce and shine. For the first time, I actually saw Zoe smiling and enjoying the process instead of dreading it.

It was such a sweet bonding moment between us—and it reminded me that sometimes, the little changes (like moving to the kitchen sink and using the right product) can completely transform an experience.

Wash Day Video – Mom & Daughter Natural Hair Care Routine

I actually filmed the whole wash day for Zoe on the kids’ channel so you can see the process for yourself. If you’re looking for a real mom-and-daughter natural hair care routine, check it out here:

It’s fun, real, and hopefully gives other moms ideas on how to make wash day a joyful bonding experience instead of a dreaded chore.

Final Thoughts

Wash day doesn’t have to be stressful—it can be a time of love, laughter, and connection. For us, switching things up made all the difference, and finding the right product (thank you, Aussie!) turned it into a joyful experience.

Thank you so much for reading, sweet and lovely people! 💕 Don’t forget to check out the video, try the product if you’re interested, and most importantly—make space to enjoy the little moments with your loved ones.
