Good morning, wonderful, amazing, sweet, and lovely friends 🤍
Today felt like one of those days that reminds me why slowing down is not a luxury — it’s a necessity.
It was a beautiful day, and I spent it doing what so many of us do quietly and lovingly: caring for my family, preparing nourishing food, and moving through the day with intention instead of rushing.
Simple, Healing Food Made With Love
I prepared a one-pot plantain dish — boiled plantain with beans and potatoes, all cooked together in one pot. Nothing fancy, just wholesome, grounding food.
One of my little ones is recovering from a cold, and I made a conscious choice to avoid fried foods. When the body is healing, gentle, warm, cooked meals make all the difference. This wasn’t just about food — it was about listening, responding, and caring with wisdom.
Sometimes love looks like choosing what supports healing, even when something else sounds more exciting.
Motherhood in Motion
While the food was cooking, I washed my daughter Zoe’s hair right by the sink. I’ve learned that doing hair this way is easier, calmer, and much more manageable for both of us. Real-life salon vibes right at home.
I also had my baby secured on my back — because that’s often the only way things get done. Motherhood teaches you how to multitask, adapt, and keep going with grace.
This is real life. It’s not staged. It’s not perfect. And it’s beautiful.
Learning to Do Less — With Purpose
One thing I’ve been actively working on is breaking the habit of trying to do a million things at once. I noticed that when I overload my time, especially before client calls or work commitments, I end up feeling rushed instead of present.
Now, I’m learning to:
Focus on what matters in the moment
Give myself space before work
Honor the season I’m in
I don’t have to do what I do — I get to. And that mindset shift changes everything.
Gratitude Changes the Atmosphere
Even though we didn’t attend church in person that morning, we still connected online. I chose to keep everyone home and rested, and I felt peace about that decision.
Gratitude filled the day — for health, for home, for the ability to provide, and for the awareness to slow down.
These quiet days build strong foundations.

Final Thoughts
Life doesn’t always need to be loud to be meaningful. Sometimes the most powerful moments happen in the kitchen, by the sink, with a baby on your back and gratitude in your heart.
Thank you for being here and sharing space with me.
May your days be gentle, intentional, and filled with joy.
With love,
Maryam
